Sunday 4th September 2016 vs Vagabonds C.C.

Washington Win at Bentworth

Washington C.C. 189/5 dec
Vagabonds C.C. 47/10

I am proud to report that the Washington had a tremendous win at Vagabonds today. In a timed game, Washington scored 189/5 and declared at tea after 39 overs, with Aff scoring 63 and Walshy getting 71 in a very disciplined innings against a very decent bowling attack on a pitch with a bit of "juice" from a generous grass covering and some moisture from the overnight rain. Alex Britten scored his first runs for the club with 14 (and took a catch off Clint). In reply Vagabonds scored 47 all out with Clint bowling a spell which will stay long in the memory: 8-1-20-5 of pace, power, aggression, smoothness and accuracy. Luke took 4-33 at the other end, benefiting from superb catches by Kiwi and Clint. Marshy took the final wicket with his second delivery. Kiwi took 3 catches in a near flawless performance behind the stumps.
